Project Artemis

Our vision for the future of emergent player experiences.

Project Artemis is our ultimate goal to develop the technology to scale massive online worlds enabling communities of players to build, play, and create their own experiences in.

A platform designed for creation and play at a massive scale.

We have a veteran team with a long-term plan that is built around the research of technology to power the platform we envison.

Our studio is fusing this technological proress with game design to develop a series of standalone games created to turn theory into practice and to showcase the types of experiences Project Artemis is designed to realize.

A planet-sized ambition

Emergent spaces for players are at the heart of Project Artemis. We are building the technology and the platform for players to create their own stories.

Not just for a hundred players at a time, but for millions of players across living, breathing high fidelity worlds.

To power Project Artemis, we are creating our own in-house engine: Melba.

A three-game plan

Realizing a vision with the scale of Project Artemis takes time and iteration. This is why we have a three-game plan that brings us there by solving three problems of scale: realistic terrain generation, player and NPC interactions, and millions of players sharing the same online space.

Our first game Prologue: Go Wayback! represents our first step on this journey. By applying our research into machine learning-powered terrain generation to Unreal Engine 5, we allow players to generate billions of worlds to explore and create their own stories in.

Transparent development in action

Our studio's goal is to develop our technology in a transparent way that involves community feedback.

Our playable tech demo Preface: Undiscovered World represents our continuous work on the Melba Engine to create planet-sized worlds at scale. You can try it out today, and keep checking back over the months and years to come to see how it is developing in real time.
